Day 1 :
Drive
down from Gangotri to Mala (1478 m). The actual trek starts here, after crossing
the river Bhagirathi.
Day 2 :
Trek 5 kms to Saurikigad (1218 m). This trek is along an even surface.
Day 3 :
Trek 10 kms uphill to Belak (2439 m).
Day 4 :
Trek 14 kms downhill through dense forests, to Budha Kedar (1524m).
Day 5 :
Gangotri Trekking Tours, Trek 26 kms uphill through terraced fields, and idyllic villages to Panwali (3963 m). The 'bugyals' (alpine meadows) along this trek, are simply enchanting.
Trek 14 kms downhill to Sonprayag (1829 m).
Day 7 :
Trek 19 kms uphill to Kedarnath (3583 m).
Gangnani: Further up on way to Gangotri about 26 kms from Maneri is the hot water spring at Gangnani, where one can have refreshing bath in the Kund called Rishi Kund.
