Belur Tour Packages and 222 km from Bangalore, 39 km from Hassan and 149 km from Mysore is Belur famous for its exquisite Temples. Belur is known as the Dakshina Varanasi or Southern Banaras.

The serenity of Belur is attributed to the celebrated temple of Channakeshava, built by the Hoysala Kind Vishnuvardhana in 1117 A.D. to commemorate his conversion from Jainism to Vaishnavism.

Belur City Tourism and The main structure of the temple , which is star shaped, is a homogenous architectural unit on a raised platform.

Belur Tour Packages and Everything is carved in black stone, looking like metal. Facing the temple, at the entrance, stands the winged figure of Garuda, Lord Vishnu's carrier. The 650 charging elephants on frieze around the walls outside are all different from each other.

Belur City Tourism and The exotic bracket figures (Madanikas) on the walls of this temple are secrene, playful and amorous; enhancing the overall effect of this pinnacle of architectural . Inside, even in the darkness, you can see the Hand Lathefurned shining pillars, each unique in its own splendour. The District Headquarters, Belgaum is a picture of contrasts. On one side is the old town area where the cotton and silk weavers still create magic with their fingers. Belur City Tourism and And on the other the modern, bustling, tree lined Cantonment built by the British in the Belur Tour Packages.

Belur Tour Packages and In the heart of Belgaum, near the bus terminus is the Fort. At the Entrance are two shrines, one devoted to Ganapathi and another to Durga. Inside the Fort are two bastis in the Late Chalukyan style. Of these, the more famous is the Kamala basti, built in 1204.
Come out of the Kamala basti and you will find another ruined Jain Temple to its right. Co-existing harmoniously with these temples are two ancient mosques the Safa Masjid and the Jamia Masjid

Belur City Tourism and On the smooth circular platform in front of the shrine, you can see the beautiful Shantala Devi, queen of Kind Vishnuvardhana.

Belur Tour Packages and The Spotlight is now on the four famous bracket figures on the ornate ceiling. All these figures have been inspired by Shantala Devi's voluptuous beauty in Belur Tours.

The word Bellary sprang up from the term Balari i.e. Goddess Durugamma, who appeared in the town of Bellary. Various historical events of the epic Ramayana are associated to this place. According to Ramayana, when lord Rama was searching for Sita, he met Hanuman & Sugreeva near Hampi, which was earlier the capital of the kingdom of Vijayanagara.

Sculpted limbs undulate in lyrical lines. One sculpated beauty communicates with a pet parrot whose tail is peacock like, another wrings water from her long hair and you can see the drops collected on hair-ends. The delicacy and attention to the finest details here are incredible.
