Marayoor Sanctuary Tours
is the only place in Kerala that has a natural growth of sandalwood trees. The
sandalwood factory of the Forest Department, the caves (muniyaras) with murals
and relics from the New Stone Age civilization and the children's park spread
across a hectare of land under the canopy of a single Banyan tree are of great

Marayoor occupies a vast area on the slopes of the Western Ghats in Idukki district and is an important pre-historic site in Kerala. Apart from the Dolmenoid cists (Dolmenoids were burial chambers made of four stones placed on edges and covered by a fifth one called the cap stone) in Muniyara, Marayoor is famous for its natural sandalwood forests and pre-historic rock paintings.
Day 1. Mumbai: Arrive Mumbai from your home country by midnight. Garland welcome, assistance and transfer to the hotel. O/n Hotel.
Day 02. Mumbai Kochi (Cochin): After breakfast transfer to airport to board flight to Kochi. On arrival transfer to hotel, afternoon city sightseeing. O/n Hotel.
Day 03. Kochi Parambikulam: After an early breakfast drive to Parambikulam via Sholayar Forest and Valparai Tea estates (about 170kms/06hrs). The road winds you through the stunning views over the tea plantations of Valparai. Arrive and check into the basic forest rest house and relax. O/n Rest House.
Day 04. Parambikulam Chinnar Marayoor: After breakfast we drive (10kms) towards the first forest check post to start our cycling trail via Annamalai Wildlife sanctuary. The next 30 kms we cycle through the villages of Tamil Nadu through coconut (village road). After 30kms we reach the main road to Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary and next 05 kms will be through the Chinnar WLS. We cycle for next 16kms to reach Marayoor for our campsite. The terrain is
Day 05. Marayoor Kanthalloor Kundala Munnar: After breakfast we start our cycling towards Kanthalloor (15kms) (in between 08kms is rough road), the road passes through the proposed Mannavon Chola National Park and reach Kundala dam (16kms). The views are stunning once we reach near to Munnar and also feel the natural beauty of tea plantations. The stretch between Kundaladam and Munnaris 25 kms. O/n Camp.
Day 06. Munnar Devikulam Kailasapara: After breakfast we cycle towards Kailasapara (about 62kms) through the view point of Munnar - Lockheart Gap. The road winds you through the planations of tea, coffee, pepper and tea. Our camp will be in 1500 acres of land with cardamom, spices and they also have a tea factory of their own. O/n Camp
Day 07. Kailasapara Nedumkandam Periyar: After breakfast cylce towards Periyar via Nedumkandam (60kms). Upon arrival, we will camp in a beautiful site among the spice plantations. O/n Camp.
Day 08. Periyar Kuttikanam Elapara Wagamon Teekoy : Early morning boat ride in Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and at 09.00hrs we start our cycling to our beautiful camp site at Teekoy (about 66kms). The terrain is beautiful with plantations, tea estates, and other countryside. In some extend the roads will have deep ascent. Rest of the day free to relax. O/n Camp.
Day 09. Teekoy Kottayam Kumarakom Muhamma: After breakfast cycle towards Kumarakom (about 69kms), through the tea estates, rubber plantations and tranquil countryside. Upon arrival in Kumarakom, we proceed to Muhamma (about 24kms), which will be our finishing point. Upon arrival in Muhamma, we drive towards Kovalam (about 160kms/04hrs) to relax. O/n Hotel.
Day 10. Kovalam: The day at leisure. After a fair well dinner, transfer to Trivandrum Int'l airport to board flight to your home country.
Day 11. Trivandrum: Early morning board your flight.
