It contains a viable population of Nilgiri Thar (Hamitragus - hilocrius), Sambar,

of hillbirds viz. Laughing and whistling thrushes, woodcock, wild pigeon and
black eagle, Butterflies with Himalayan affinity like the Blue Admiral, Indian
