Introduction: Wildlife Tour Ranthambore Indiak, set against the backdrop of the historic 1000-year-old Ranthambhore Fort, this national park lies in the area where the ancient ranges of the Vindhyas' flat-topped hills merge with the sharp ridges of the Aravalis.
The sparse landscape, well laid out tracks and the uninhibited nature of its tigers make Ranthambhore one of the favourite parks for wildlife photographers. The park comprises of the largest expanse of dry deciduous forest in the world.
Ranthambhore is the largest tract of dry deciduous forest and is indeed one of the finest parks to observe tiger behaviour in the wild.
Ranthambore Wildlife Tourism also has a large population of panthers, the second largest predators of the forest.
An open jeep or bus safari affords a glimpse of the spectacular ruins of mosques, tombs, watchtowers and palaces scattered within the park.
Ranthambhore uniqueness lies in its man-made lakes and ancient reservoirs, which have merged into the natural system as vital sources of water. Ranthambhore is also known for its frequent tiger-crocodile conflicts.
Activities at Ranthambhore include a visit to a local village and Dastakari Kendra, an NGO working with village women, creating alternate means of income by reviving the local crafts.
Marsh Crocodiles abound in the lakes and Gharial can be spotted close by in the Chambal River, which also harbours the endangered Gangetic Dolphin.
The water bodies nearby witness large congregations of winter migratory birds and Black Bucks can be found close to villages
